I think the ratio here is a little off. For every nuts-o-religious person there's about 1/5th that many educated, seemingly normal religious persons. So its like a 5/1 ratio and to be honest, it's probably a lot bigger than that.

Well, maybe I've just gotten lucky in terms of my exposure. A fairly large number of my friends are all sane, intelligent, and very accepting and loving Christians. On the other hand, I don't think I've ever personally met a fanatic face-to-face, or screen-to-screen I guess if we're talking internet exposure as well.

There's plenty of whackjobs out there, sure. But honestly I think the large number is a bit of an illusion. The noisy psychopaths are the ones that get heard. Meanwhile, there's plenty of NORMAL PEOPLE quietly going about living their unfanatical lives all over the place without a jot of attention being pointed in their direction.

But then, what do I know. I'm just a silly agnostic.
